It is already confirmed that the program ‘Terceiro Tempo’, by presenter Milton Neves, on the air since 2008 on Sundays on Band, will only be shown until the end of this month. It was defined that on June 25th the last program will air.
As of July, its 10:30 pm time slot will be replaced by the program ‘Apito Final’, a brand that Band already owns and will now be used in the broadcaster’s new football bet, which will have former player and sports commentator Neto as presenter. The idea is to do something totally different from the current format, including a new scenario and dynamics.
Milton Neves has a contract with Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação until December 31 of this year. Until then, he should continue with his Sunday program on the radio and may return with the sports program ‘Gol: O Grande Momento do Futebol’ on television, as a frame within the ‘Final Whistle’.
Check below, in full, the official note released by the Band.
“Milton Neves, a prestigious and much-loved professional at Grupo Bandeirantes, will present ‘Terceiro Tempo’ until the end of this month. After this period, the presenter will continue to work on the station’s various radio stations and will take over the program ‘Gol: O Grande Momento do Futebol’, which was very successful under the command of Alexandre Santos and, later, of Milton himself, from 1999 to 2001. ”
Although nothing has been confirmed in this regard, according to columnist Flavio Ricco, from R7, there is a desire on the part of the Band to honor Milton Neves in his last ‘Terceiro Tempo’. The idea will still be adjusted in the coming days, but the station understands it as something absolutely fair and deserved.
Musical chairs on schedule
This isn’t the first change announced by Band this quarter. In mid-May, the broadcaster surprised the public with the announcement of the closure of ‘Faustão na Band’, a program shown daily at night and led by the presenter, who will leave Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação in the second half of this year. Faustão had been at the station for just a year and a half.
Since the beginning of this month, Band has been showing reruns of the program and will continue with the strategy until the 28th of July. Recently, columnist Fernando Oliveira, Fefito, from UOL, said that the broadcaster has already started preparations for a new attraction. In the first meetings, which took place last week, the format of the new program was confirmed, which should debut on July 31 and will be live, focused on journalism, presenting the main news of the day in a light way, from 8:30 pm to 9:45 pm .
The objective of the project is to take advantage of the good audience results of Jornal da Band, commanded by Eduardo Oinegue and Adriana Araújo, which has recorded averages between 4 and 5 points in the metropolitan region of São Paulo (SP).
