The “Abuso No Amor” action has an official website in the country, with training and instructions on how to deal with cases.
Yves Saint Laurent Beaut and Instituto AzMina presented the global program “Abuso No Amor”, which aims to prevent and help combat intimate partner violence (IPV) in Brazil.
Through various activities, from warning messages in public restrooms, reporting applications to online training, the brand and the institution want to make people aware of the nine warning signs of abusive relationships and impact more than 12,000 women in the country.
“With the objective of alerting the Brazilian population even more, we launched a program that aims to place alert messages in restrooms, bus stops and terminals, and another 500 spaces in Rio de Janeiro and So Paulo about what is NOT love. with the message, you can enter our training site or seek direct support through the “Penhas” application”, said Sabrina Zanker, director of L’Oral Luxo.
On the program’s official website in Brazil, people can find online training and educational resources for survivors of abusive relationships and those looking to become allies in the fight. The training tool helps people understand the multifaceted nature of abusive relationships, the nine signs and guidelines on how to leave or help a friend out of an abusive situation.
In addition, as an official partner of YSL Beaut in Brazil, the AzMina Institute made available an application to combat domestic violence, PenhaS. As part of the action, the application is being used to share information and a map with the public services that assist survivors of violence throughout Brazil, as well as to welcome and guide women from all over Brazil who are willing to help others in situations of violence. Users can choose up to five people they trust to be contacted in an emergency.
The Abuso No Amor program was launched globally in 2020 with three major partnerships with non-profit organizations in the United States, United Kingdom and France. This year, the program expanded its reach to include grassroots partnerships in 25 countries, Brazil being one of them.
The 2020 campaign launch included an awareness video featuring YSL Beaut Ambassador Zo Kravitz, who is a leading advocate for the cause and has supported the Abuso No Amor program since its launch. Along with this video, the brand also released a series of nine animated videos about the nine signs of abuse, which were shared across YSL Beaut platforms.
Already in Brazil, the campaign has Marina Ruy Barbosa as the main voice to share cases of abusive relationships experienced by several women and alert people about the signs, disclosed on their social networks.
