Canva, the only complete visual communication platform in the world, has just launched, in partnership with the research company Ipsos, a study on how Brazilians relate to visual communication. The starting point is that, currently, the exercise of creativity is practically unthinkable without the use of technology, both in personal projects and at work. According to the study, 84% of Brazilians believe that the design is important in their daily lives, while 76% consider themselves to be creative people, 66% feel confident about their design and 95% are interested in improving their writing skills. design.
At the same time, 88% of Brazilians think it’s important that editing tools and apps are easy to use, and 89% think it’s important that these tools and apps help produce quality and attractive content. How do Brazilians use visual communication?
When asked what are the main reasons why they already created a design50% of Brazilians answered that to edit photos, 47% to create posts for social networks, 42% for creating presentations and 40% for creating printed materials.
When asked about when they used the design to create an impact, 39% of Brazilians said that to improve their profiles on social networks, 38% to do something authorial, such as a personalized gift, 37% to create a visual identity for a brand and 36% to improve their own learning. Design for education and business
Another theme addressed by the study was how visual aids help retain information during learning, and 85% of Brazilians think it is important to receive information in a visual format when learning something new. Furthermore, 90% believe that the design it should be taught as a subject in elementary and/or higher education, as it already happens in some courses, such as Journalism.
From a business point of view, when asked in which situations strong visual communication can be useful, 64% of Brazilians answered that to present ideas or plans to a client, 62% to present ideas efficiently in an internal meeting and 61% to Improve communication between team members. Furthermore, 92% of Brazilians agree that a brand’s visual identity has already influenced them in a purchase decision.
The survey was carried out with 1,000 Brazilians aged between 18 and 57 from all regions of Brazil, also bringing data for Mexico, Spain, France, Germany and the United Kingdom. One of the conclusions of the study is that 91% of Brazilians believe that the design can contribute to changes in society, showing its importance in the lives of most Brazilians.
