The first two episodes of Season 2 of ‘And Just Like That’ premiered this Thursday (22) on HBO Max, and a new episode will be released every Thursday. Of course, it’s not a series for everyone. Those who are “40 minus” are likely to find it boring and slow. But those who are in the “40 plus” phase and have followed all the adventures of the friends of ‘Sex And The City’ will probably find the series more connected with the style of the parent series than the first season.
I think I’m one of the few people who likes the first season of ‘And Just Like That’. It made me laugh and cry (I still can’t get over Big’s death). But, I think the saddest aspect of the series made an efficient counterpoint to demonstrate that life changes, that there are losses (personal and professional) that happen as you get older. After that necessary first moment, the first two episodes of season two are lighter. Carrie is in a “Thursday” affair with the hot producer she kissed at the end of the first season. Miranda is having fun in Los Angeles while Che (Sara Ramirez) films the pilot for a new series. Charlotte has her little domestic problems with her daughters and her husband.
Season 2 trivia
- Already in the first episode, the friends will be super involved with the Met Gala. No footage was taken at the event, but it will show all the characters’ dedication to having the best looks. The highlight, for me, was Lisa (Nicole Ari Parker), who started out as Charlotte’s friend but then took on a life of her own. It’s the best addition to the cast. I loved yours look Valentino red.
- The new season has interesting guest appearances. In addition to Gary Dourdan (remember him from CSI?), the first two episodes also feature Oliver Hudson, Tony Danza, Ali Stroker. And the series still promises, for the next episodes, the expected returns of Candice Bergen, John Corbett and David Eigenberg.
- John Corbett will return as Aidan. Carrie will send you an email, and the two will reunite. And yes, a kissing scene was filmed. According to series creator Michael Patrick King, both characters will be single and unencumbered.
- And, of course, a huge plot twist, Kim Cattrall (who must have taken a lot of money to return as Samantha) will appear in the final episode. It’s already known that she won’t be co-starring with any of her friends (Kim was pretty clear about that). Apparently, it will be a conversation between Samantha and Carrie over the phone.
- Sam Smith and Gloria Steinem will also appear, but as themselves.
