I have a long history with Indiana Jones. The first film, ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’, which I saw as a girl, is in my TOP 10 for life. Years later, I had the opportunity to release the then trilogy on DVD’s, and I presented the marketing plan there at Lucas Film, near San Francisco. It was an unparalleled experience. And now, here I am to once again talk about the new Indy movie. It’s interesting how a character can follow his life at all times. Therefore, I say that it is impossible not to have fun and get emotional with ‘Indiana Jones 5 and the Relic of Destiny’, which debuted this Thursday (29) in theaters. Have to see!
In the film, Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) embarks on yet another unexpected mission. He finds himself in a new era, approaching retirement and depressed by several situations that happened in his life. Including, he struggles to fit into a world that seems to have outgrown him.
But when an all-too-familiar evil returns in the form of an old rival, Indiana Jones must put on his hat and pick up his whip once more to ensure that an ancient and powerful artifact doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. Only this time, he has the blood of a new generation to help with his discoveries and his fight against the villain Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen). Accompanied by his goddaughter, Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), the archaeologist races against time to retrieve the item that could change the course of history.
Some trivia about the film
#1 The film begins with scenes from the past, back to the times of World War II. And for that, director James Mangold resorted to sensational special effects that rejuvenate Harrison Ford and Mads Mikkelsen. You have to introduce these people to Marvel and DC, everything was perfect.
#2 From the top of his 80s, Harrison Ford made a mega preparation to return to being Indiana Jones for the fifth time. He did 40 mile(!!) bike rides and daily walks. And his physical form is really unbelievable!
#3 Harrison Ford has already stated that this is the last time he will play the character.
#4 It is the first Indiana Jones film that was not directed by Steven Spielberg. James Mangold, who previously worked with Harrison Ford on ‘The Call of the Wild’, took the chair. Spielberg continued as executive producer.
#5 Mads Mikkelsen’s character, Jurgen Voller, was based on a real scientist, Wernher von Braun. This was a Nazi who later went to work for NASA.
#6 John Rhys-Davies returns as Salah, Indy’s friend from ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ and ‘The Last Crusade’. But, there are other cameos #no spoilers.
