Throughout the month, the celebrations take place with a thematic collection and new shorts on Disney+, surprise content on social networks and thematic programming on television channels, in addition to extending to stores in Latin America with products inspired by the friendship of this classic group of friends.
Disney+: Reviving a centuries-old friendship
This year, The Walt Disney Company celebrates its 100th anniversary, and as part of the celebrations, 28 classic shorts starring Mickey and friends will be released through early October on Disney+, showing what a #TrueFriendship is all about. The shorts were recently restored by the Walt Disney Studios Restoration and Preservation team.
Among the titles that will be added to the streaming are Disney’s earliest shorts, Trolley Troubles and The Drop of Water, both from 1927 and starring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, as well as Silly Symphonies classics such as Skeleton Dance, The Sirens and Wynken, Blynken and Nod.
In addition, on July 28, the new short from The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse, Nostalgic Mayhem, will debut on Disney+, which follows Mickey Mouse and his pals as they try to stop hundreds of Mickeys, who were accidentally released from the Steamboat Willie movie reel, from wreaking havoc on the entire town with their cartoon shenanigans.
Finally, subscribers will have access to a special collection of Mickey and Friends, which will include all the content starring the adorable group on the platform.
