With the arrival of the Women’s World Cup, which starts this Thursday and also in celebration of World Football Day (07/19), we have separated some of the best campaigns of the Women’s World Cup. The brands are even putting on a show and are really engaged in encouraging the championship, which this year has everything to grow.
#5 McDonald´s – Brabo Breaded with Minas Cheese
Agency – Galeria.ag
With an eye on the Women’s World Cup, McDonald’s called on narrator Galvão Bueno to dub the reaction of customers when trying the new sandwich “Brabo Empanado de Queijo Minas”.
A great combination to launch the new sandwich from the ‘Brabos do Méqui’ line and add more emotion to the message, speaking of football and emotion, it couldn’t be anyone else, right?
#4 Guaraná Antarctica – #OlhaPraElas
This campaign is an example of creativity and representation. To reinforce the visibility and recognition of women’s football, Guaraná Antarctica provided an activation in the friendly preparation of the Brazilian National Team against Chile.
Tracks, special guests and mainly the shirts worn by the players drew attention. The names were stamped much larger than the numbers, unlike conventional uniforms.
It was a much-needed campaign to demonstrate the greatness of women in sports and make Brazil know and recognize the players they are rooting for!
#3 Mastercard – #Elas em Campo
Agency: WMcCann.
Still talking about the friendly of the Brazilian Women’s National Team, Mastercard carried out a campaign in partnership with the CBF, an extension of the #ElasEmCampo movement and which will be highlighted during the games.
11 former soccer players were invited and entered the field along with current athletes, with the aim of inspiring the next generation of girls. The former players who accompanied the titleholders are Marisa, Fia, Leda, Pelézinha, Cebola, Flordelis, Solange Bastos, Monaliza Souza, Magali Pomba, Nani Enzo and Sandra Cristina.
A super important action to show that women’s football is much bigger than you can imagine and that it has been present for a long time, an old fight, which is being won little by little!
#2 Adidas – Play Until They Can’t Stop Staring
Agency – I didn’t think
adidas is giving an example of encouragement at this World Cup, in addition to several actions that have drawn attention, such as the ‘Joga com as Minas’ tournament, where the winner was presented with a trip to watch the championship up close (which is already a great way to encourage the sport), the brand launched the ‘Play until they can’t stop looking’.
In the advertising film, important names in women’s football appear, such as Alessia Russo, Lena Oberdorf and Mary Fowler, to inspire other girls to follow their purpose. Lionel Messi also appears.
Using the brand’s wonderful products and playing football, the videos are very dynamic, exactly fulfilling the name of the campaign. Historical moments and championships are mentioned in an enigmatic way, through shirts, balls and accessories.
#1 Frito-Lay – I like greatness
Agency – D3
One of the most creative and fun campaigns, the ones that hold us back! The brand launched a campaign that transforms its snacks into famous soccer players, including Marta representing Brazil and being the Ruffles potato.
In the video, a mother appears explaining to her daughter the talent of the players and comparing each snack, such as Lay’s, Doritos, Cheetos, Ruffles and Pop Corners. Because it is dynamic, this campaign can encourage girls, who are still children and don’t even know that they can also play soccer.
The avatars were created with 3D body scanning technology and aim to highlight the importance of women’s football and the remarkable participation of women in the sport, not to mention the presence of the brand’s snacks in the Cup. This is too much, right?
