Marca invited singer Larissa Luz to create a new version of Maria, Maria
Claro, Official Telecommunications Operator in Brazil for the Women’s World Cup, invited singer Larissa Luz to re-record the song Maria, Maria, a classic composition by Milton Nascimento. The song, which was chosen to rock the crowd during the competition, brings a new arrangement that promises to be contagious to connect Brazilians even more.
The lyrics of “Maria, Maria” talk about female empowerment, praising women, in their fight inside or outside the fields, for gender equity and respect in society. The song became an anthem, in addition to being sung at women’s football matches in Brazil, an insight that validated the choice of song.
Supporting the 2023 Women’s World Cup is a great opportunity to value women’s football and place all women as protagonists, with a beautiful and meaningful song chosen as the theme. Likewise, the choice of Larissa Luz to pay homage, as a singer, songwriter, actress and engaged presenter, with an active role in causes linked to women. With the campaign, we invite the public to watch the games, on all screens and places, with Claro, says Ane Lopes, Claro’s brand and communication director.
The song will be available on Claro Música, the operator’s audio streaming app. The campaign also features a film titled “Todas as Marias”, created by Talent, which shows that women’s football is gaining more prominence every day and the plurality and diversity of Brazilian fans, in a country of continental dimensions.
Our campaign talks about the best that exists in sport: the connection. We want women’s football to have the audience it deserves and increasingly win the homes of Brazilians. Maria, Maria is a song that represents the plurality and strength of Brazilian women, and this is the strength we want to inspire everyone, and we are very proud to be able to count on Larissa Luz’s power to materialize all of this, says Gabriela Moura, Content Director at Talent.
Continuing the partnership initiated at the 2022 World Cup, held in Qatar, Claro will once again be alongside Fernanda Gentil, a journalist and presenter, who is in Australia and New Zealand, at the invitation of the operator, to cover the competition in loco on the brand’s social networks. Claro will also be present in the 64 matches of the 2023 Women’s World Cup broadcast by CazTV, in addition to its already traditional presence on Globo and SporTV, radios and digital media.
