Social network says goodbye to the classic blue bird and announces new visual identity
This Monday (24), Twitter says goodbye to the classic blue bird. Elon Musk and the new CEO of Twitter, Linda Yaccarino, announce the new name and logo of the social network: “X”.
With plans to transform the social network into a “superapplicação”, Musk and Yaccarino put one more step of the plan into practice. Elon Musk also explains that the tweets will be called “Xs“.
“It’s an exceptionally rare thing in life or business that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made a big impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X goes further, transforming the global city square”, declared the CEO in her social network.
Musk, who had already changed the name of the company to X Corp, declared that “soon we will say goodbye to the Twitter brand and, little by little, to all the birds”.
Jasmine Enberg, an intelligence analyst Insider Intelligence, analyzes that Twitter’s rebranding is a reminder that Elon Musk – not Threads or any other app – has always been the ‘Twitter Killer’.
“Musk’s supporters will likely celebrate the rebranding, but it’s a somber day for many Twitter users and advertisers. Even so, Twitter’s corporate brand is already heavily intertwined with Musk’s personal brand, with or without the X name, and much of the brand equity established by Twitter has already been lost among users and advertisers,” adds Enberg.
