The influencer Antonio Tabet, one of the founders of the Porta dos Fundos channel, is involved in a great novelty within the sport. Created by him and another group of executives, the GOAT channel has just been launched, with the aim of broadcasting live football games and content related to the sport. Do we have a new trend in the market?
The name ‘GOAT’ is a reference to the expression “greatest of all time” (best ever, in English). The term became popular in the sport to indicate a player who is the best in history in his modality.
Last Sunday (23), the channel already broadcast the friendly match between Manchester City and Yokohama Marinos, from Japan. And this Tuesday (25) it was the turn of Paris Saint-Germain and Al-Nassr, by Cristiano Ronaldo. A package of friendly matches from the beginning of the season for the French club will be the flagship of the channel’s debut, which already has the best moments of the first match published on the platform. In August, it will be the turn of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League to be present at GOAT.
The company bought the rights to matches from the playoffs for the group stage of European tournaments and the NWSL, a women’s soccer league in the United States.
In addition to Tabet, GOAT counts on the presence of André Barros (one of the creators of Desimpedidos), Rafael Cappelli, Guilherme Prado and lawyer Marcos Motta as advisers. Alexandre Salvador (formerly from Flow) will take care of the channel’s content, while Luciana Festi (ex-My News) will be in charge of production. Finally, Bruno Andrade and Rodrigo Vessoni are some of the journalists on the project.
