Advertiser Bruno Zampoli is conquering the digital world with his content page, The Acid Times. The project, hosted at Instagramcombines images generated by artificial intelligence with texts filled with humor and hints of irony to address behavioral excerpts from everyday scenes, current issues and social events in a captivating and, often, provocative way.
I saw many AI imaging projects taking the technology too seriously or just focusing on aesthetics. The Acid Times is an exercise in inversion where the focus is on everyday life, with a strong dose of imagination, absurdity, fiction and humor. Technology is just a detail, comments Zampoli.
Adnews separated some notable posts that translate the project’s concept:
The Mutt Caramelo at the Met Gala
The publicist created the caramel mutt posing on the Red Carpet at the Met Gala. The post was made in reference to the moment when Jared Leto appeared dressed as Choupette, Karl Lagerfeld’s cat.
Abominable Snowless Man
A problematic criticism of global warming was made in the post Abominable Snowless Manwhich was seen on Brazilian beaches after global warming melted part of its habitat.
Beb Coach
There are also modern observations, such as the Beb coach that provides mentoring on life experience and growthsharing his experience of corporate life.
Barbies na Barbie Premiere
And the dolls Barbie who filled the cinemas to watch first from the movie Barbie? Ken was stopped by security, in the image highlighted in this article.
In addition to editorial content, there are already projects developed in partnership with agencies and brands such as Ita, Gym session and the app in.
With the agency GALERIA.ag and Ita, content was produced for the Women’s Football World Cup. Through testimonies from former players, portraits were generated of Brazilian women’s football teams banned from playing in the past. In Brazil, women’s football was banned by law for 40 years! The film, which you can see below, premiered during the Jornal Nacional break.
The more impossible and unimaginable the situation, the more impactful and authentic the image generated by AI, highlights the advertiser.
The project also satirizes the language of popularly sensationalist newspapers, such as the now-defunct Notcias Populares, which was successful in the 80s and 90s.
The page is the result of a mix of inspirations, including meme language, satires by English photographer Martin Parr, images nonsense and surreal stories from the Italian publication Toilet Paper, from MAD magazine, and mainly, from banal everyday situations, he concludes.
