Are you looking for a different role for your next vacation? Last Monday (23), the Uber has opened reservations for those interested in traveling in a hot air balloon! One of the most exclusive and unusual tours ever launched by the app, Uber Balo is available for tours in the sky of Cappadocia, in Turkey, a tourist destination famous for experiences of this kind.
Lasting around an hour and a half, the tour begins before sunrise in Greme, Cappadocia, and ends in the Greme National Park, where the tall, rocky blocks known as fairy chimneys. The Turkish region is considered a World Heritage Site Unesco and receives millions of tourists between October and November, when the balloon season begins.
According to the company, travel requests from international users increased by more than 30% in Turkey last year, a scenario that motivated Uber to implement the service to encourage the use of the app in the Eurasian country. Uber Balo trips will cost 150 per person, but 100 free flights will be available to celebrate the launch of the service!
Availability of trips on Uber Balo will be limited and subject to weather conditions. Users who wish to take a flight can book in advance using the Uber Reserve function in the app, at least 12 hours before departure. The tours run until November 19th.
Alternative means of transport
Uber doesn’t live only by cars and motorcycles around the world, and the Uber Balo is not the first non-conventional means of transport that the company offers in its app. The novelty continues a sequence of differentiated launches, such as the Uber Boat in Mykonos, Greece, and the Uber Tren in Lapland, in the Scandinavian region (yes, the land of traditional Santa Claus), in addition to flights, trains, buses and even hotel reservations are available directly through the company’s application. In 2020, the company also launched Uber Boat in London, which allows passengers to travel along the River Thames.
