Advertising standards will be defined in partnership with Conar, says the Federal Government text
The Ministry of Finance presented, this Friday (27), the ordinance that establishes the rules for companies that wish to operate in the sports betting market.
The idea of the text is to guarantee consumer protection, establishing fundamental rights, guaranteeing data protection and promoting the concept of responsible gaming.
In relation to advertising, the ordinance establishes that players must promote informative and preventive actions to raise awareness among bettors in order to prevent possible addictions.
Communication rules, such as broadcasting times and online advertising format, will be developed in partnership with Conar (National Advertising Self-Regulation Council).
The objective is to ensure that marketing actions are responsible and ethical, contributing to a safe and regulated betting environment.
Other rules
The text also emphasizes that foreign companies are authorized to operate in the Brazilian market as long as they are duly established in the country.
The ordinance also provides that companies interested in participating in the market must express themselves at least 30 days in advance. Furthermore, the text prohibits athletes, members of the technical committee, referees or managers from being part of the players’ membership.
