The shirt is green in color and has a cut inspired by the clothing worn by teams sponsored by Puma in Formula 1.
Puma Brasil, Palmeiras and Abel Ferreira, came together to present a shirt co-created by the coach of the Alviverde São Paulo team that unites two passions of the Portuguese: the club and motorsport.
The shirt features the club’s characteristic green color and has a cut inspired by the clothing worn by teams sponsored by Puma in Formula 1. The location of the logos of Palmeiras’ partners replicates the position in which they are found on the drivers’ shirts.
“Being able to unite two great sports in Brazil, such as football and motorsport, through the passion of coach Abel Ferreira was a unique opportunity for PUMA, which always aims for a genuine connection with the public”, said Puma’s Marketing Director , Luciana Soares.
On the front, the button-down shirt explores the year Palmeiras was founded (1914), with vertical graphics and, on the back, it has an apparent white stitching that simulates the nose of an F1 car. Next to this seam, there is the flag of Italy, with the Palmeiras phrase: “Sccopia Che La Vittoria Nostra”.
The project is part of PUMA’s sustainability pillar and Palmeiras’ “For a Greener Future” initiative and was made from sustainable raw materials from PET bottles.
“Throughout these three years at Palmeiras, I have always sought excellence, on and off the field, with work and solidarity. Now, the club and Puma have presented me with the opportunity to contribute as creative director in the development of a shirt that demonstrates the my love for football, my taste for motorsport and my commitment to Palmeiras”, highlighted Abel Ferreira.
Puma is currently one of the leading suppliers of racing equipment and lifestyle collections in motorsport with partners such as Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1, Scuderia Ferrari, Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake, BMW M Motorsport and Porsche Motorsport. Since this year, the brand has also become the official supplier of Formula 1 races.
The new shirt is available at PalmeirasStore and the club’s official stores. From Saturday (28th), the release will also be sold on the Puma website.
