Recognized for its public commitment to gender equality, TIM has just launched an initiative to combat violence against women, combining technology and its commercial structure. From now on, the operator’s stores will become safe places in Caminho Delas, a tool in the Mulheres Positivas app, offering connection to a support network for women in dangerous situations.
In this innovative partnership with the app, TIM stores will be reference points indicated in the tool, which consists of a map designed to ensure that women circulate safely on the streets. The functionality uses data entered by users and statistics generated by artificial intelligence to create safer routes.
The first phase of the project covers 11 TIM stores located in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and So Paulo. The teams at these stores were trained to offer support to women who seek help in cases of harassment, physical violence and other risk situations. They will be taken to a room where they will have access to a smartphone for calls and internet, as well as a booklet with information and contacts for public channels and reporting entities, such as the Women’s Call Center (180), police stations, Hotline, Public Prosecutor’s Office, among others. This service path and informative materials, in addition to team training, were prepared in partnership with the Positive Women Movement and the consultancy Free from Harassment. Manifesto in favor of gender equity
In an additional effort to promote gender equity, TIM also launched, last Wednesday (25), a manifesto on its social networks, with the participation of the brand ambassador, the singer BEHIND. The campaign, developed in collaboration with the agency BETC Has, aims to reinforce the company’s commitments to gender equality in the job market and the fight against any form of prejudice and violence against women. When being amplified by the squad of TIM on social media, including influencers such as Little Lo.
This manifesto represents the evolution of our commitment to the diversity and inclusion journey. In the gender pillar, we have reached a stage where we do more than celebrate achievements: we influence the market and reinforce our positioning for the whole of society. We are not at the finish line. Each objective achieved brings us new responsibilities, and we will continue with internal and external actions to have a fairer, safer society with more opportunities for women, highlights TIM’s VP of People, Culture and Organization, Maria Antonietta Russo.
Recently, TIM was considered the most diverse and inclusive operator in the world in the Refinitiv Diversity & Inclusion Index, an index that measures the performance of more than 15 thousand publicly traded companies in terms of diversity, inclusion and career development, for the third year in a row. . The company is also one of 13 Brazilian companies among the more than 400 organizations on the planet included in Bloomberg’s Gender Equality Index (GEI), which assesses gender equality in the workplace.
Check out the manifesto released by the operator below:
Imagine that it is possible to live in a society where women can be themselves, have access to education and equal opportunities in the job market. Imagine that it is possible for there to be a society where all women are respected, without prejudice and judgment, without being victims of harassment and gender-based violence. But the reality of women is still far from all of this. They still suffer from lower wages, insecurity and fewer opportunities. Therefore, more than imagining, TIM fights to build this society today. Gender equity is possible and cannot wait any longer.
