The choice of the English publication is due, among other reasons, to the fact that it was a ‘quite commented’ term.
As happens every year, the English dictionary Collins released this Wednesday (1) the expression of the year. And the term chosen was Artificial Intelligence. The choice is made from a list of new expressions in the English language that became popular in 2023.
As the dictionary reported, AI ‘considered the next great technological revolution’, in addition to being ‘much talked about’ in 2023.
Other words appeared on this year’s shortlist: disinfluence, ultraprocessed, debanking, semaglutide, bazball, nepo baby, canon event, greedflation, ulez.
Last year, Collins chose the word ‘permacrise’, which is the feeling of being in a prolonged period of instability. In 2021, the word NFT was chosen.
