The advertising film portrays children watching toys on the way to their homes, generating moments of joy and emotion. The culmination of the action reveals the transformation of these toys into Christmas Without Hunger volunteers, responsible for delivering supper kits to families in need.
After almost six years of weakened public policies, hunger once again struck the Brazilian population. Even in the face of government basic income programs, access to nutritious, quality food is still a challenge for many. Issues such as the controversial time frame and the clashes over the demarcation of territories, together with the growing violence in the countryside and the widespread release of pesticides, have worsened this worrying cycle.
Rodrigo “Kiko” Afonso, executive director of the organization, highlights: “Christmas without Hunger is not a solution to the food crisis in Brazil, but rather a call to raise awareness in society about these deeply serious problems”.
Marcello Noronha, executive director of Creation at Artplan, comments that at the essence of ‘Christmas Without Hunger’ lies the belief that the issue of hunger outweighs any other. In this initiative, we highlight this by using toys instead of donors as the great symbol of what really is a great gift for those who need it most.
