Platform crowned Ana Castela and Podpah as the most listened to singer and podcast of the year
Spotify presented its 2023 Retrospective, which reveals the most listened to artists, songs, albums and podcasts among more than 574 million people around the world. The launch takes place one day after Deezer’s retrospective.
In Brazil, the most listened to artist was Ana Castela, followed by Henrique & Juliano, MC Ryan SP, Marlia Mendona and Jorge & Mateus.
The song most listened to by Brazilians was ” Nosso Quadro “, performed by Ana Castela. The ranking is completed by “Leo” by Marlia Mendona, “Erro Gostoso” by Simone Mendes, “Bombonzinho” by Israel & Rodolffo and Ana Castela and, finally, “Seu Brilho Sumiu”, by Israel & Rodolffo and Mari Fernandez.
The duo Z Neto & Cristiano led the ranking of the most listened to album in Brazil with “Escolhas, Vol. 2”, followed by “Let’s Bora, Vol. 2” by Israel & Rodolffo, “Dos Prdios Deluxe” by Veigh, “Manifesto Musical ” by Henrique & Juliano and “Dos Prdios” by Veigh.
The Spotify Retrospective also crowned Podpah as the most listened to podcast in Brazil for the second year in a row. Next were “Mano a Mano” presented by Mano Brown, “Caf da Manh” made in partnership with Folha de S.Paulo, “Psicologia na Prtica” by Alana Anijar and “No Inviabilize” by Dia Freitas.
On the global stage, Taylor Swift was the most listened to singer on the platform throughout the year, with more than 26 billion streams, followed by Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Drake and Peso Pluma.
The most listened to song was “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus, which broke the record with more than 1.6 billion global streams in the year. The ranking was completed by “Kill Bill” by SZA, “As It Was” by Harry Styles, “Seven (feat. Latto)” by Jung Kook and “Ella Baila Sola” by Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma.
For the second year in a row, Bad Bunny’s album “Un Verano Sin Ti” was the most listened to album in the world on the platform. Following were “Midnights” by Taylor Swift, “SOS” by SZA, “Starboy” by The Weeknd and “MAANA SER BONITO” by Karol G.
The podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience” was the most listened to in the world for the fourth consecutive time on the platform, followed by “Call Her Daddy”, “Huberman Lab”, “Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain” and “On Purpose with Jay Shetty”.

As in recent years, the platform is also making retrospectives available to its users.
