ACCXP23, the biggest pop culture event in Brazil, served as a stage not only for comic artists and filmmakers, but also for moments of transformation that celebrated cultural and racial diversity. During December 3rd, the last day of the event, the doctor and now communicator Fred Nicciojournalist Karine Alves, rapperKarol Conk and actor Jean Paulo Campos took to the stage at the invitation of Projeto Negritudes Globo.
The project, which also includes names such as Lzaro Ramos,Tas Araujo and Maju Coutinho, addresses black narratives in search of self-development, revealing the challenges and glories behind the successful careers of black people.
In front of an overwhelming audience that filled the Omelete by Banco do Brasil Stage, the Adnews team witnessed up close the experiences shared by these personalities who are symbols of resistance and struggle. In addition to life stories, they spoke about moments of difficulty and overcoming, goals achieved and triumphs, reinforcing the importance of black empowerment.
The chat, which included the showing of exclusive videos for the event, offered a more in-depth look at each of their journeys. One of the most important moments was when Karol Conk, who went through a difficult period in 2021 due to his controversial participation in the reality show Big Brother Brasil (BBB), shared about the personal growth that negative experiences can provide people. She highlighted the importance of therapy for mental health, encouraging everyone who was present to consider this practice as essential.
Alas rapperthe actor Jean Paulo Campos, applauded by the CCXP audience (including us here) due to his remarkable performance as Cirilo in the soap opera Carouseltransmitted by SBTcommented on the showing of a scene from the soap opera Vai Na F, from Globo, in which the character Yuri, also played by him, was unfairly accused of a crime. The actor addressed the importance of discussing social injustices in an environment like CCXP and shared what it was like to play this delicate scene, revealing that, contrary to what many imagined, it was not difficult for him to delve deeper into this role, because the feelings and anguish that only a black person faces were present in their personal experiences.
The actor concluded his speech by highlighting the importance of having goals in life to allow constant rediscoveries, just like Niccio, who practiced Medicine for years, but is currently rediscovering himself as a communicator, even using some journalistic jargon during the conversation, showing that he always time to reinvent yourself.
With a lot of style, deep reflections, and of course, a lot of blackness, the four ended their participation in the event with honors, exalting each other and celebrating iconic black personalities in Brazilian pop culture who inspire not only them, but also our team, which joins the discourse in favor of a future where everyone can be seen, respected and heard for their essence, regardless of color, sexual orientation or any other characteristics.
