The Anime Awards Brasil, an event held by the Anime Crazies Podcast in partnership with the entertainment website Omelete, will award the best anime of 2021. The event is the largest related to the theme in the country and is already in its fourth edition. This year the celebration has more than 30 categories.
The Anime Awards annually brings together the main content creators and specialized sites in the Japanese pop culture scene in Brazil. The main objective of the event is to reward the main highlights of the animes shown nationally in an official way. Roberto Fabri, CCO of Omelete Company spoke a little about the award:
“We are happy to support this project for the second year in a row. The size and strength of Otaku culture in pop culture is a reality.”
One of the great highlights of the Anime Awards is the way the results are defined. From February 4th to February 28th, a popular vote will be held where fans choose their favorite works. In parallel, a technical jury made up of several professionals and specialized content creators also make their choices.
In the end, an average is defined between these two to reach a balanced result between technical quality and popular appeal. In addition, some categories will be decided only by popular vote, among them: Best Female Character, Best Male Character, Best Performance in Brazilian Dubbing and Best Anime Dubbed.
Among the studios, Crunchyroll leads the number of nominations with 85, in second place is Funimation with 56 and followed by Netflix with 20. Of the animes, the title ‘Ranking of Kings’ was the one that received the most nominations, adding 15. fans can vote by clicking the official site from Anime Awards Brazil.
