Twitch highlights the relevance of the community and the presence of new tools for content creators.
The end of the year usually brings with it reflections on what was trending on the main digital platforms. In Latin America and the rest of the world, users of the streamingTwitch share creators, emoticons and trends that shaped the year’s scene.
From there, the platform itself creates a general overview with the main information about how streamers and audiences enjoyed what was offered in 2023. To keep you informed about this, Adnews brought the main information released by the platform. Let’s go!
Among the five channels in Latin America with the most hours watched is, in first place, Gaules, which had its own area inCCXP23 which Adnews was present, followed by loud_coringa, Cellbit, Paulinholokobr and last but not least, Elspreen.
Still about Elspreen, this year he was the Latin American streamer with the highest number of views in a broadcast, reaching more than 21 thousand views.
Going global, more than 104 million stories were viewed on Twitch, an impressive number considering how recent this new format is.
Currently, more people are able to use the platform for work. More than 502 thousand new affiliates worldwide have started to monetize their own channels. These users, when joining the platform, had access to new tools to build their audiences.
We take a community-first approach to content production, brand partnerships, and product development to help streamers safely build their communities and monetize their content. Ultimately, our goal is to help streamers focus on creating more content and connecting with their communities, said Rachel Delphin, CMO (Director of Marketing) at Twitch in an interview with Adnews.
More than 6,300 of these new partners have taken the next step in creating content, building a significant audience and making their own mark across Twitch categories like Gaming, IRL, Art and more.
In order for this content to be discovered by new audiences, more than 2.1 million tags were created. Apparently, this worked very well, as audiences engaged with more than 49.6 billion chat messages worldwide.
In relation to these trends and advances in streamingTwitch’s approach focused on creating content and new experiences changes not only the way in which creators get in touch with their audience, but also how advertising is present on the platform.
Twitch has been on the market for over 10 years. During this time, we have had to continually evolve alongside the creator economy and the streaming industry as a whole, staying different and offering unique experiences to our community. Our experience and the fact that we have always focused on streaming from day one are what sets us apart from other services. We continue to follow this approach while innovating to help our streamers grow. This has also created new opportunities for brands looking to connect with communities on Twitch to foster brand loyalty, said Rachel.
The platform also offers this information to its own users through the Twitch Annual Summary, which records activity throughout the year. The summary is divided into three types, Viewer, Creator and Community, allowing the user to qualify for one, two or all three categories.
Only the user himself has access to his individual Summaries, however, by scrolling to the end of his own summary, he finds a function that allows him to share an image that highlights his biggest achievements of the year. To check your summary, just clickhere.
With these new features, Twitch shows how video transmission continues to be a space in constant change and, above all, evolution. This opens doors to a future that adopts more technologies and greater efficiency for shared content.
Currently, the platform already has several innovations, such as Discovery Feed, which helps viewers find new streamers based on their featured clips, Twitch Stories, focused on the short video content format that has taken over the internet, helping you streamers to connect with their communities even when they’re not broadcasting.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate how we are introducing new products to help streamers grow and engage their communities. We are committed to leveraging new technologies to further enhance the interaction between creators and viewers, providing an increasingly immersive and personalized streaming experience, said the director.
Our streamers are often early adopters of technology, and we’ve seen this with AI in particular, as streamers are experimenting with how AI can help boost their own creativity. While we’ve long used AI in some of our own tools, it’s often streamers who drive innovation, making the most of the latest technological features, she added.
In addition to innovations in technology, the platform is also constantly changing in terms of valuing female audiences and content creators.
According to the CMO: Women are an incredibly important part of the Twitch community and a crucial audience for us. We recently held our first Women Streamers Meet-Up in Brazil, an initiative led by Twitch and an exclusive event, to bring together Brazilian female streamers. We welcomed 50 streamers with the aim of providing them with a platform to discuss opportunities and challenges, foster connections and exchange ideas.
This community is characterized by a diverse audience and creators, not only in terms of the type of content, but also in the ways in which they interact with each other.
Bel Rodrigues is a Just Chatting streamer known for her career as a writer and creator of literary content under the hashtag #booktwitch. She participates in literary sprints, shares book reviews with the community and encourages reading. We also have Ingrid Larissa, better known as Yayah, a streamer/content creator and former judo athlete. Yayah plays Valorant and many other games on his streams, while entertaining his large audience with stories and conversations. We can’t forget Celine, a former professional Valorant player who changed her career from streaming to become a GTA player. Currently, she is among the top 10 female streamers on Twitch, with a fan base passionate about her broadcasts, concludes Rachel Delphin.
