Study highlights that 23.84% of single bettors are beneficiaries of government social programs
Research by Datahub, a Big Data & Analytics platform, reveals that more than half of young people, aged between 22 and 36, represent 59.86% of sports bettors in the betting market.
Bettors aged between 28 and 36 lead the way, comprising 31.84%, followed by players aged between 22 and 27, with 28.02% of the total.
The recent report that details the profile of these players on the internet came after another survey carried out by Datahub that showed a 360% growth in open companies in this sector between 2020 and 2022.
The report also reveals that groups considered more mature, between 56 and 70 years old and between 71 and 90 years old, represent 6.71% and 1.73%, respectively, of this betting public. Minors make up 2.06%, with the survey emphasizing that their presence does not reflect the approval of the responsible companies.
The Datahub survey also highlights that 23.84% of single bettors, more than 2.5 million people, are beneficiaries of government social programs, including emergency aid, family allowance, continuous benefit, harvest guarantee and closure insurance.
Gender and income
The bet betting market in Brazil is predominantly male, with 69.11%, although women represent a considerable share of 30.88%.
Regarding income range, the study shows that the highest concentration of bettors is in the lower ranges, with up to R1.5 thousand (36%) and from R1.5 thousand to R3 thousand (31.64%) being the more representative.
The research reveals diversity across all income brackets, from the lowest to those earning R50,000 (1.08%).
Regarding professional occupations, the majority (57.71%) are registered under the CLT regime, while individual micro-entrepreneurs (MEIs) or entrepreneurs represent approximately 20%. Public employees make up 8.16% of bettors.
