Project created in conjunction with Lew’Larra\TBWA and Mynd aims to give visibility to successful trans people in the country
For the 14th consecutive year, Brazil is the country that kills the most trans people in the world and, of this portion of the population, few reach the age of 30. According to data from the ‘Dossi Murders and Violence against Brazilian Transvestites and Transsexuals’, carried out by ANTRA (National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals), the life expectancy of trans people is between 18 and 29 years old.
With this in mind, Billboard Brasil launched “Over 30”, a project that gives visibility to trans and transvestite people who have overcome violence statistics, overcome the 30-year barrier and become a reference in their areas of activity.
Together with Lew’Lara\TBWA and Mynd, the magazine prepared an edition that features a Brazilian list of 30 people who are relevant in the community and in the fight against transphobia in the country. The cover stars the actress, singer and presenter Pepita, the singer from Goiás Mel Gonalves and the singer, songwriter, businesswoman and teacher, Raquel Virgnia.
In addition to them, the list also includes names such as Lina Pereira, Lea T, Noah Scheffel, Laerte, Roberta Close, Gabriela Augusto, Nany People, Thammy Miranda, Fernando Lins, among others.
The Over 30 project also includes other fronts in addition to the printed magazine, such as OOH and digital media, content on social media and a single co-created by the cover artist and music producer and composer Pablo Bispo, which will be released on all digital platforms still in January.
