Platform takes more than 60 executives to talk about sustainability and innovation in the global retail scenario.
From the 13th to the 18th of January, global retail leaders meet in New York City (USA) for the 114th edition of Retail’s Big Show, the most traditional annual retail event in the world, organized by the National Retail Federation, the largest global retail trade association. The 2024 congress has the theme Make it Matter and promises to present significant innovations and trends for the sector.
With 1,000 exhibitors and more than 400 speakers, the main objective of the conference is to actively represent the sector and defend the people, policies and ideas of retail, as well as creating a favorable environment for business and relationships. This year, the NRF will address topics of great importance to the market, such as smart consumer (consumer in transformation), sustainability and ESG, new business models and new agents in the market, metacompetition, revolution in artificial intelligence and data, among other topics focused on innovation and technology.
Brazil stands out as one of the largest international delegations at the conference, and Greener + Prospera, a sustainable benefits platform, will be present with the Brasil Varejo group’s delegation. With the participation of more than 60 executives, the objective is to seek and share valuable insights into industry trends and global best practices.

Global Sustainability Panel: a conversation about the challenges and opportunities for retail
With this vision, the company will conduct a panel at the UN on Global Sustainability: a conversation about the challenges and opportunities for retail. It will take place today (17), from 14h45min, and will be moderated by Mia Mamede, journalist, presenter, model and ambassador for Greener + Prospera in Brazil. The panel will feature Claudio Olimpio, CEO and co-founder of Greener Brasil; Henry Kelly, CEO of Greener USA and director of sustainability at BlueWind; Felipe Russowsky, lawyer and Chairman Greener; Mrcio Carpena, lawyer, professor and partner at Carpena Advogados; and Michelly Carpena, corporate business manager at Carpena Advogados.
The debate will focus on issues crucial to sustainability and corporate responsibility, such as a detailed analysis of scope 3 with an emphasis on strategies that boost the effectiveness of companies in this scenario. The panel will also have an in-depth discussion on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), offering insights into how organizations can contribute to goals aligned with global sustainability.
A specific focus will be dedicated to the carbon credit market and the role of renewable energies, providing an in-depth understanding of practices for reducing emissions. Furthermore, a critical analysis will be made of recently implemented Brazilian legislation in relation to carbon emissions, accompanied by a debate on the current panorama of tax incentives linked to the ESG acronym.
