With eight channels in the Top 20 for the longest duration, the conglomerate consolidates its dominance in 2023.
A Warner Bros. Discovery was the highest-rated international pay TV programmer in 2023, maintaining its position from the previous year, according to data collected by Kantar Ibope Media Brasil. The company also stood out in terms of its audience retention capacity and relevance, with eight channels appearing in the Top 20 for the longest duration, being the programmer with the largest number of channels in the ranking.
WBD also expanded its presence among the Top 20 audiences, with eight channels compared to seven in the previous year, also achieving the TNT Series, which did not appear in 2022.
The group’s channels remain prominent in all areas of pay TV in which they operate. The Discovery channel leads the Factual category, surpassing the average audience of its competitors by 131%. Discovery Home&Health is the most watched channel in the Lifestyle segment, with an average audience 116% higher than other channels. In Children’s, the Discovery Kids and Cartoon Network channels appear in first and second place, respectively, in the audience ranking among audiences aged 4 to 11.
In 2023, WBD also stood out in the Films & Series category, with growth in share on pay TV, driven by Warner Channel, which showed an increase of 18% in audience in the year, and by TNT Series, which had growth of 9%. Both channels also had their best runtimes in history, with Warner Channel hitting one hour and 47 minutes, and the TNT Series, one hour and 23 minutes.
Finally, the new channel TNT Novelas, launched in June last year, closed the year 17 positions above its predecessor, TBS, with an average audience 114% higher, driven by titles such as SER IS THIS LOVE? and THE DELUDE. In 2023, WBD also launched the adult animation channel [adult swim].
