Debut episode with philosopher and writer Djamila Ribeiro
Jpiter Contedo produces the podcast Lugar de Escuta, scripted and presented by journalist Adriana Carranca. The podcast features plural voices that are at the forefront of the most important contemporary social, cultural and political transformations for building a truly democratic and better society for everyone.
The interviewee from the premiere program, Djamila Ribeiro, inspired the project. It was after reading her book, Lugar de Fala, that Adriana began to reflect on the importance of putting ourselves in a place of listening.
Lugar de Escuta emerged from Adriana’s perception that we are losing the ability to listen, so immersed that we are in the contemporary way of life.
The objective of the project is to promote the transformative exercise of active listening.
Among those interviewed in the first season are Father Jlio Lancellotti; journalist and criminologist Bruno Paes Manso, one of the greatest scholars of endemic violence and organized crime in Brazil; the Afro-anthropologist Izabel Accioly; journalist and activist from Complexo do Alemo Rene Silva, founder of Voz das Comunidades; and the trans, Bahian and Jewish musician Assucena, twice nominated for a Latin Grammy, and lawyer Marinete da Silva, mother of Marielle Franco.
