CeraVe has been a topic on the internet in recent days after a rumor emerged that the “Cera” in the name was a reference to Canadian actor and musician Michael Cera.
With this in mind, the company decided to get in on the fun and took over the matter to launch its new ad, which was premiered during the Super Bowl, which took place last Sunday (11).
The piece, titled “Moisturize like a Dermatologist”, was designed to be part of a strategy that aims to educate consumers about the true origins of the North American company.
For the campaign, the brand teamed up with the actor in a creative move to reinforce CeraVe’s reputation and demystify the story, in addition to alerting the public about how rumors can become truths and quickly spread around the world.
With a 360 approach, the campaign involved influencers, dermatologists and the brand itself.
