The CoDulas are back and will once again share the spotlight with some of the best tennis players in the world in Rio Open 2024, on Wednesday (21). The initiative of FirstRpeta leading company in high-quality food for dogs and cats in Brazil, and aims to promote the cause of adoption at the biggest tennis tournament in South America.
In search of a home and representing thousands of dogs awaiting adoption, Lobinha, Mila, Nico and Ursula will be ballroom dogs for a day. They will participate in a ball fight with the athletes and will have fun catching the balls that come out of the court. With plenty of energy, they promise to put on a talent show and play a lot!
By taking CoDulas to the courts at the Rio Open, we demonstrated that adult dogs, when loved and fed correctly, can also learn new things, be companions even in sport and achieve great things, says Madalena Spinazzola, director of Corporate Marketing and Strategic Planning at PremiereRpet.
Since 2016, CoDulas have reinforced the cause of adoption by putting on a show on Brazilian courts, demonstrating all their companionship and joy, regardless of their history of abandonment.

On a journey of overcoming and learning, the dogs were rescued by PremieRpet near the industrial hub of Porto Amazonas (PR) and are under the company’s care. In addition to high-quality nutrition, with PremieRpet products, in the preparations for the Rio Open, they had the assistance of animal behavior specialist Ana Lucia Baldan, a doctoral student at UFPR in Behavioral Medicine for Dogs in Shelters and partner of the PremieRpet Institute. They are docile, active and affectionate dogs, who love to play and promise to shine on the court.
Towards the spotlight
Just like tennis players, four-legged athletes will go a long way to stardom. This year PremieRpet has the support of The hypepartner of the PremieRpet Institute, to join the sports journey of adoption.
CoDulas will have the right to transfer provided by Kia Brasil, which is also responsible for transporting tennis players during the tournament; special accommodation in Hilton hotels, with a well-deserved spa day; PremieRpet power supply; and lots of pampering, like real celebrities.
How to adopt?
Lobinha, Mila, Nico and Ursula, as well as several other dogs rescued along with them, will be featured on the Hyppet app from February 17th. Anyone interested in taking one of them home must access the app, select the chosen dog, send a message and wait for the team to return to carry out the interview and fill out the adoption forms.
