A Shopee invited Tchan! to be the new ambassador of the Consumer Day campaign. In the new play, which begins airing this Monday (26), the iconic ax group from the 90s revives its second formation.
Composed of Beto Jamaica, Compadre Washington, Scheila Carvalho, Sheila Mello and Jacar, the group performs a parody of their great hit “Mel do Tchan” as a jingle for the new piece.
One of the main objectives of this partnership with the group Tchan! reinforce Shopee’s local commitment and highlight the importance of Brazilian culture for the brand.
“The campaign brings back the nostalgic atmosphere of the 90s and Shopee’s cheerful personality, inviting Brazilians to sing and dance the new jingle with us. We continue with communication focused on entertainment, celebrating Brazil in our TV commercials,” he said Rodrigo Farah, head of brand at Shopee.
The campaign’s creative piece is set in a setting reminiscent of the pillory in Salvador, with colorful houses and buildings and full of references to the city that gave rise to the group. During the commercial, the group members highlight the application’s features, iconic phrases and choreography.
Created by Shopee’s internal team, the commercial was recorded at Estdio So Paulo and additional scenes for social media at the marketplace’s own studio, located at the company’s headquarters in the city of So Paulo.
