A Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios have released a new trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 that reveals the gameplay of the next DLC guest fighter for the game, the Peacemaker, who has the voice and image of actor John Cena. Based on the film The Suicide Squad (2021) by DC and in the Max Peacemaker series, the anti-hero will join the roster of Mortal Kombat 1 on February 28th, as part of the early access period for Kombat Pack owners, followed by broad availability on March 6th.
The Peacemaker, also known as Christopher Smith, values peace with all his heart, and killing whoever is necessary to achieve it. In the new video, he is ready to challenge Liu Kang’s New Age of Peace, and is equipped with a formidable moveset that incorporates the character’s marksmanship skills, surreal powers with his helmet and his loyal eagle companion, Eagly, all complemented by his legendary dance moves and bold humor.
The trailer also gives a first-hand look at gameplay from Janet Cage, a new DLC Partner Fighter and a version of Johnny Cage from an alternate reality, who can help during matches with a series of support moves. Janet Cage will be available as part of the Kombat Pack and for independent purchase in March 2024.
Additionally, Krossplay functionality will be added to Mortal Kombat 1 on February 28th to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). The Krossplay feature will allow players to play in 1v1 matches on Kombat League and Kasual, invite friends to private 1v1 matches, and view leaderboard statistics across all supported platforms.

For potential players, a free trial weekend for Mortal Kombat 1 will take place between March 7th and 10th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam). The free trial will be for a limited time, and will include access to the basic list of main characters and Partner Fighters, all online and local multiplayer modes, Towers, Story mode (chapters 1 and 2 only) and Invasions (Johnny Cage’s Mansion only). The Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack includes the Jean-Claude Van Damme character skin for Johnny Cage (available now); one-week early access to six new playable characters, Omni-Man (available now), Quan Chi (December 14), Peacemaker (February 2024), Ermac, Captain-Homeland and Takeda Takahashi; and five new Partner Fighters (release dates for next characters and Partner Fighters yet to be confirmed).
