O SBT Brazil has a new look. Assuming a new commitment to bringing real and quality information in an unpretentious way, the newspaper, which will air at 7:45 pm from March 11th, will mark the return of broadcasting anchor Csar Filho, in addition to representing a turning point for how to present news.
During a press conference presented by journalist Simone Queiroz, journalist Csar Filho and SBT journalism director Jos Occhiuso shared some spoilers about what’s to come in the new SBT Brasil format. According to Csar, the objective will not be to become bigger or better than other newspapers, but rather to be different from what is currently being done.
Although they did not reveal all the details about the changes, the presenter and the director commented that there will be a reformulation of the scenario, which will be more dynamic and allow greater movement for the presenter, abandoning the format of a single fixed bench. Furthermore, Occhiuso confirmed the presence of Marcia Dantas in the newspaper, acting as editor and lady of the day.
Another detail discussed by the duo was how to keep SBT Brasil relevant in an era where information arrives all the time via social media, constantly accompanied by false content. To this end, both commented on the main differences of the program.

Another factor that will make the newspaper unique is the opinionated issue, as they revealed that this will happen, but will not be the focus of the program.
The opinion can be given in several ways, such as the intonation of the presentation or even the time dedicated to a certain content, said Csar Filho.
Complementing the presenter’s speech, the director of journalism reinforces the station’s commitment to bringing journalism with credibility, honesty and impartiality to the public.
There is no need to have an opinion about everything all the time. We want the viewer to form their own opinion, added Occhiuso.
Commentators do not launch!
Speaking about information and opinion, José confirmed the return of sports commentators to the program.
According to him, our intention is to add commentators to SBT Brasil, starting with the economic area and moving on to the political area. Let’s start with the sports sector, but the idea of commentators for other topics has not been ruled out.
For football lovers, the director revealed the presence of some famous commentators on the program, such as Cleber Machado on Mondays, Fred Ring on Tuesdays, Luiz Alano on Wednesdays, Nadine Bastos on Thursdays and, to close the week, Mauro Betting on Fridays.
The prodigal son returns home
On his return to SBT, Csar Filho shared his gratitude at being back home and recalled a behind-the-scenes moment that left a deep impression on him. The journalist commented on when he said goodbye to Teleton, in November 2014, and Silvio Santos said to him: “if something goes wrong, come back and talk to me”. He added that Daniela Abravanel held him in her hands, affectionately, and said “leave here with our blessings”.
Continuing with this feeling, Csar expressed his happiness with returning to SBT, describing it as a feeling of “butterflies in the stomach” that is unnecessary to explain to those who are part of the broadcaster, while it is impossible to explain to those outside.
