Executive had been with the group for three and a half years and, from now on, will dedicate himself to other projects
After three and a half years as CEO, IPG Mediabrands announces the departure of Ezra Geld. According to the communications group, the decision was taken jointly and planned so that it can dedicate itself to new projects.
Geld graduated in Economic and Social History from the universities of Cornell, in the United States, and Bristol, in England. His first professional experience was dedicated to vehicle service, working as a business consultant and communication planner. He arrived at media during an internship at PHD, in London, until returning to Brazil in 2004.
Here, the executive went to JWT So Paulo, where he started as director of media research and insight. He was promoted to Head of Department, oversaw the total media restructuring and launched the country’s first Channel Planning service. From then on, he obtained a broader and more strategic account management role, leading work with clients such as Coca-Cola and Unilever.
In 2011, he was promoted to general director of the agency and in July 2013 he was appointed President of JWT. In 2019, he was promoted to Corp Strategy and Head of Media at the holding company WPP, a position he held for a year, and in 2020 he left the group to take on the position of CEO at the IPG Mediabrands group.
“In 2020, during the pandemic, I took on the challenge of becoming CEO of IPG Mediabrands and, looking at the entire trajectory and growth numbers, I believe that we managed to position the agency as a reference in the Brazilian market. In the last year alone, we won 13 golds in market awards and this fills us with pride and demonstrates that we have a team of specialists who will continue this work”, said Ezra.
