Parque started the celebrations with tributes to points such as Oca and Planetário, in addition to announcing shows throughout the year
In the central-south area of the municipality of São Paulo there is a green spot of more than one million square meters, where the traditional Ibirapuera Park is located, a space for leisure, gastronomy and sport that also serves as a meeting point for all the tribes that live in the metropolis.
Ibira, as called by São Paulo residents, will complete 70 years in August this year, but the celebrations already started during Carnival, when the Rosas de Ouro school dedicated its time to parade at the Anhembi Autdromo to pay homage to the park with the samba-plot “Ibira 70”.
Now, the park, which has been under the Urbia umbrella since 2019, is presenting the new logo that will accompany all the activities that celebrate its anniversary until the end of the year and which bears the same name as the São Paulo school’s samba.
According to Samuel Lloyd, Commercial Director at Urbia, the commemorative brand was designed to pay homage to all the iconic points of the place, such as the Biennale, the Oca, the Marquise, the Auditorium, the Pavilions and the Planetarium and is composed of the predominant colors of the space. , such as green, yellow, red and white.
The logo is emblematic because each line represents seven decades of history, culture and nature. a reverence for the past, a celebration of the present and a glimpse of an inspiring future. We want to celebrate the anniversary with several actions that mark this year with a look at the future of a park that is so important for the city and that is undergoing transformations and restorations that value the historical, architectural and cultural legacy for people, explained the executive.
The celebrations also include a video that shows images of the park and announces some of the cultural and sporting attractions planned for the year and which should take place at Oca, Auditorium, Culturas Brasileiras, Planetarium and Events Arena, in addition to shows, events, national attractions and international ones such as João Gomes, Emicida and Niall Horan, and exhibitions.
Furthermore, the park will also be the stage for the “Best of Blues”, a jazz festival celebrating its 11th anniversary, C6 Fest, FluiSP, Tur and Feira Preta.
In the months of June and July, the public will be able to enjoy Brazilian cultural festivals with “To Ser To” and “Arraial Estrelado”, which will take place in the external area of the Ibirapuera Auditorium and are dedicated to Brazilian cultural traditions and northeastern roots.
“The proposal is to offer diversified, high-quality entertainment and leisure. The presence of users attending these events is a great gift for Ibirapuera Park, and our daily work is to value and preserve the historical, cultural and environmental heritage,” said Lloyd.
The celebrations will end at the end of the year, with the traditional Christmas party taking place in the park, which will feature “The Nutcracker”, by Tchailovski, on display in the Auditorium.
With all the activations, the park expects to have a 10% increase in the park’s overall audience when compared to 2023, the year in which the site received 17 million visits.
