Initiative created from collaboration is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
A NIVEA, the number 1 brand in skin care, entered into a partnership with Instituto Adus to launch the Colore Project, an initiative to promote reception, guidance and inclusion for LGBTI+ refugees in São Paulo. As an integral part of its Care Beyond the Skin social mission agenda, NIVEA is committed to promoting the integration of this population into Brazilian society, thus marking a significant chapter in its journey of social responsibility.
The Colore Project, as a result of this collaboration, will have the first initiative in So Paulo dedicated to welcoming and providing full support to LGBTI+ refugees. In conjunction with the Adus Institute, the project aims to provide comprehensive support, including migration regularization, access to inclusive jobs, legal support, social services and digital literacy courses to facilitate inclusion in the job market.
With the “Living well under your own skin” strategy, NIVEA seeks not only to positively impact the lives of communities, but also to generate income and productive inclusion. Starting its journey with approximately 300 LGBTI+ migrants and refugees in So Paulo, the Colore Project becomes part of NIVEA’s mission to contribute to a more inclusive and egalitarian society. Ligia Annunziato, executive manager of Sustainability and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) at Beiersdorf, home of NIVEA and Eucerin in Brazil, emphasizes the importance of this project.
“We are happy with this new partnership and with the realization of the Colore Project. Our purposeful agenda continues, for the fourth year, impacting thousands of people and we are sure that this initiative will provide support and new life perspectives for these groups who arrive in Brazil in search of a fresh start”, highlights Ligia.
The Adus Institute, recognized for more than a decade of work dedicated to the integration of refugees, expresses the relevance of this partnership in the current context of Brazil.
Marcelo Haydu, director of the organization, highlights: “Collaboration with NIVEA demonstrates our commitment to respecting and preserving the lives of refugees, and it is essential to implement all essential measures to ensure their rights and protection. We want the Adus Institute to be seen as a reference space for the LGBTI+ migrant population.”
The Colore Project is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, prioritizing the eradication of poverty, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, and the reduction of inequalities.
