Initiative includes the release of a documentary that tells how technology helped chef Diego Oka to develop new recipes
Over the last decade, turtles have suffered a decline in the number of the species, reaching just 85,000 worldwide, both due to climate change and the hunting of animals for consumption, according to data presented by the Sea Turtle Conservancy.
Based on this information, NotCo teamed up with chef Diego Oka and, using Giuseppe, foodtech’s proprietary artificial intelligence, developed a new recipe for the traditional turtle soup, consumed in countries such as Peru, Mexico and Ecuador, without use animal protein.
The action includes a documentary, which is being released this Wednesday (17), entitled “NotTurtle”, which shows the entire research process for the new recipe.
“If Giuseppe was able to replicate green turtle soup in just two weeks, not only are we providing an alternative for an endangered species, but it’s also a way of saying ‘imagine what else we can do with technology’. We saw an opportunity to tested our AI and we are more than pleased with the results,” said Matias Muchnick, CEO of NotCo.
