Campaign has the slogan “Don’t sponsor this race” and aims to draw attention to the environmental crisis faced by forest rivers
The Stock Car Pro Series launched an initiative that aims to reinforce its commitment to ESG, titled “Amazon Desert Rally”.
The action has the slogan “Don’t sponsor this race” and aims to draw attention to the environmental crisis faced by the rivers of the Amazon Forest, which lost 130 million liters of water in 2023 alone. According to a study published by the magazine Nature, 47% of the forest is expected to enter a path of degradation with no return until 2050.
Based on this data, the category presented the campaign led by a team made up of indigenous people. In the play, the team appears preparing and leaving, in 4×4 cars, for the dry rivers of the Amazon Basin.
Unlike expected, the end of the video reveals that they don’t want the rally to actually happen, because that would indicate that the Amazon they know could disappear.
“Have you ever stopped to think about where the wood for the furniture you have at home came from, like the chair you’re sitting on? We often do not realize the responsibility we have as consumers and as society in general. If you combat the use of Amazonian resources, even if it’s just in your home, you’ll already be helping to preserve the forest – hence our slogan, ‘Don’t sponsor this race’. That’s why all stages of Stock Car have zero carbon emissions. And there is still a lot to come”, said Fernando Julianelli, CEO of Vicar, promoter of the category.
