Vincent Martella, who played the character Greg in the series Everybody Hates Chris, arrived in Brazil last Tuesday morning (16). The actor recently gained millions of followers after a campaign by Brazilians.
The actor was photographed at Guarulhos International Airport, in São Paulo, where he also posed for photos with fans who were there.
Vicent Martella announced his arrival in Brazil on Monday (15), and also his participation in the SBT program, ‘The Noite with Danilo Gentilli’. The program has already aired and can be watched at the link below.
On the 26th, 27th and 28th of July, Martella will also participate in Imagineland, a pop culture festival in João Pessoa. The actor will share interesting facts about his career, take photos with fans and sign autographs.
A bomb on the internet!
It all started when Martella posted a photo on his Instagram with a t-shirt that read: “I am famous in Brazil”. From this, Brazilians organized a collective effort for the actor to gain followers.
The goal of helping Vicent surpass the number of Instagram followers of Tyler James Williams (Chris), the protagonist of the series, was successfully achieved. He had 2.4 million followers and Tyler had 2.3 million. Currently, Vincent has 6.4 million followers, and Tyler has 2.4 million.
During his time in Brazil, Martella already won a Ponte Preta shirt during his participation in the ‘Inteligência LTDA’ podcast this Wednesday (17), which created another social media meme, ‘GregPontePretano’.
The garment has the number 10 and the name “Greg” written below, and Ponte Preta, which even campaigned for the actor to wear the club’s shirt, celebrated the achievement on the web.

In her photos, you can see many comments with references to the series, such as: “Man, she’s so into you!” and “We need the ‘Everybody Loves Greg’ series.” In fact, Burger King has already welcomed the actor on its social networks. Is there a campaign coming?
