When The Walking Dead ended after 11 seasons, leaving several situations in suspense. It was already a strategy by the producers to bring several spinoffs to the public. But for some contractual reason, they took a long time to arrive in Brazil – you can understand these things that only encourage piracy. Either way, the main three were announced by Prime Video. The first series, already renewed for a second season, was Dead City, which premiered at the beginning of the month – and critics are here. That of Daryl Dixon, who caused several controversies, premieres next month. This Friday, it arrives on Prime Video The Ones who Live. That’s my plan for when I arrive back in Brazil on Friday.
Who followed The Walking Dead, You know that the series ended with Michone (Danai Gurira) searching for Rick (Andrew Lincoln) who had disappeared several seasons earlier. The Ones Who Live shows the meeting of the two. Invest in the love story, as well as the adventure of bringing Rick back to his children, Judith and RJ.
What to expect?
Initially, the continuation of Rick’s story would take place in three films that would go to the cinema. But something didn’t work out, and the project ended up becoming a series. The Ones who Live It has six episodes, and in theory, it is a miniseries, showing – #spoileralert – a happy ending to the story. I confess that Rick and Michone were never my favorite couple (the title goes to Daryl and Carol). Maybe because the beginning of their story was a bit abrupt. It already showed the two together a while ago after a time jump. But they did good for the story of The Walking Dead. This is largely due to the talent of the two actors, who gave themselves completely to this arc.
The Ones who Live it also has the participation of two well-known figures for those who like series. Terry O’Quinn, from Lost, is Jonathan Beale, the Major General of the Civic Republic Armed Forces. And Lesley Ann Brandt, from Lucifer, is Pearl Thorne, Rick’s friend.
