Approved measure includes changes suggested by the rapporteur, deputy Renata Abreu, who decided to maintain the benefit for 30 activities
The Chamber of Deputies approved the bill on the new rules for the Events Sector Emergency Resumption Program (Perse) on Tuesday night (23).
The proposal was approved with a limit of R$15 billion for the fiscal cost until December 2026. Now, the text will go to the Senate for analysis.
The approved measure includes changes suggested by the rapporteur, deputy Renata Abreu (Podemos-SP) who, despite the government’s recommendation to reduce the areas covered as much as possible, decided to maintain the benefit for 30 activities. In the original text, the government had reduced the list of activities that can benefit from tax reductions through the program from 44 to 12.
With the change, companies in the hotel, cinema, filming, concerts, sporting events, restaurants, zoos and amusement park sectors will benefit, with reduced rates until 2026.
