The journalism channel of SBT on YouTube it reaches the mark of 6 million subscribers, accumulating 4 billion views in its history. The ‘SBT News’ channel was born as ‘SBT Jornalismo’ in 2011 and, in February 2020, it reached 1 million subscribers.
With the creation of the SBT News vertical in September 2020, exclusive programs for the digital channel and live broadcasts showing the main news as they happen directly on YouTube are launched. Since then, the channel has gained 3.4 billion views, bringing in new 4.4 million subscribers.
At least 1800 pieces of content are posted monthly, with an average of 60 daily pieces of exclusive content and reports shown in the newspapers SBT Brasil and Primeiro Impacto on TV Aberta.
“The growth we have had in the last four years shows how the investment in content that moves between the various platforms was a success. Our perspective is to increase the number of programs that are born on digital and then transferred to open TV. This year, we will have content being produced on our regional broadcasters in Rio de Janeiro and Belém, for example”, says Rodrigo Hornhardt, manager of Journalism Integration and Planning at SBT.
In 2024, SBT News will have extensive coverage of Brazil’s municipal elections and the American presidential election, the G20 presidential meeting in Rio and will begin to bring everything about Cop 30, which will be in Belém in 2025.
“The importance of SBT News is, among other reasons, the possibility of delving deeper into the themes of the news that we show on open TV. And the opposite is also true, since the scoops obtained by the News and the interviews from the programs created for the website are transformed into articles for TV”, reinforces José Occhiuso, national director of Journalism at SBT.

- Brasil Agora -06h00 -7h30 – Direct from Brasília, presenter Murilo Fagundes and commentator Iasmin Costa present the four main news stories to open the day with the live participation of authorities and SBT journalists
- Poder Expresso – 17h00 -18h30 – Leonardo Cavalcanti quickly brings what is happening in the country and in Brasília, the capital of power, where the newspaper is generated. It has daily participation from the regions of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém and Porto Alegre.

- Perspectives – Tuesday and Thursday – 11:00 am – Journalists Kenzo Machida, Nathalia Fruet, Soane Guerreiro and Paola Cuenca do in-depth interviews with political protagonists in Brasília

SBT News on TV
In 2023, this content became part of the Open TV schedule. Presented by Marcelo Casagrande, the program brings an edition of the best moments from exclusive programs and updates the early morning news. It airs daily and is the first SBT network newspaper to be broadcast live on the SBT News YouTube channel open to audiences around the world.
Licensing
Since March, Nordestv, TV from the Jangadeiro group, an affiliate of SBT, began broadcasting the programs “Brasil Agora” and “Poder Expresso” on Open TV for the state of Ceará from Monday to Friday. Other exclusive digital programs from SBT News will soon also be part of the Nordestv schedule.
SBT News can be accessed through the official link and the YouTube channel through the official link. The TV program airs daily in the early hours of the morning. During the week, right after ‘Operação Mesquita’. On Saturdays, after ‘Impressive News’ and, on Sundays, after ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Law & Disorder’.
