The second Latin American edition of Web Summit, held in Rio de Janeiro in April, was a true technological immersion, with unique experiences on the main trends in the technology sector. Over the three-day event, participants were able to enjoy several presentations on the topics that are currently most discussed, such as artificial intelligence with practical cases, sustainability, female representation and diversity.
There were more than 600 lectures, workshops, round tables, as well as stands with immersive experiences and the presence of more than a thousand startups divided into some pavilions. There are so many attractions that it seems impossible to take advantage of everything the event offers, right?
However, there are some tricks that can prepare visitors to fully enjoy every moment of the next edition, which is already scheduled for April 27th to 30th, 2025. In addition to avoiding certain problems, the tips are allies in directing networking, as well as fun (we deserve it, right?). Check it out below:
1 – Prepare the agenda in advance
As this is an event with an extensive program, it is important to check everything that will happen in advance. This way, you can select the activities that best align with your interests and goals. In the event app itself, you can create your schedule.
2 – Credential
The accreditation queue for the 2024 edition was long, with an average wait of more than 30 minutes. If you can, collect your credential the day before the event and save time to enjoy your schedule!
3 – Be comfortable
Avoid uncomfortable attire and opt for more appropriate clothing and footwear to explore the event in a more relaxed way. Additionally, bring snacks and fruits to eat throughout the day during your schedule. Oh, and don’t forget the bottle of water!
4 – Enjoy and walk!
There are three entire pavilions to walk through, so there are several attractions in each place. In addition to the interesting content, set aside time in your schedule to walk around and visit the stands without much commitment, getting to know what’s new. There are a multitude of attractions to explore!
5 – Lunch
Be prepared, as lunch rush hour has huge queues, which can take up to an hour to wait. Therefore, the best tip is to go an hour before or after to eat more calmly. The food court has several food and snack options and is open throughout the day.
6 – Transport
As it is located far from the central region, the event provided a special bus to facilitate transportation for participants. This option was the most appropriate, as the wait for app drivers can last hours. But if you still prefer this option, try to go with more people to make transportation easier and avoid rush hour, as the traffic around it is quite complicated.
7 – Networking
The event is an open door to form new partnerships from different sectors and geographies. Both for those looking to meet other professional colleagues and those who want to present their solutions, the event opens this space. Furthermore, there are hundreds of investors present, ready to discover new ways of doing business, take advantage of the opportunity!
8 – Startups
The 2024 edition saw the participation of more than a thousand startups! Take time to listen to the pitch of these emerging companies and be surprised by the passion that drives each of these entrepreneurs.
9 – Workshops and side events
Attend workshops as you can learn and network at the same time. Furthermore, to further reinforce networking, be sure to participate in the Night Summit, a complementary convention held after the end of the lectures. This is a great time to further strengthen relationships with partners, clients or colleagues.
10 – Open head and heart
More than an event, Web Summit Rio proved to be a transformation platform that boosts new talents in its immense diversity. Therefore, it is important to be open to absorbing as much information as possible throughout the program and to be willing to leave your comfort zone. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy a sea of possibilities that boost our ecosystem in a more conscious way.
