New features such as image generation and text overlay should be available globally by the end of the year
Meta presented its new generative AI resources for advertisers and services focused on boosting companies during an event held this Tuesday (7).
According to John Hegeman, the company’s head of monetization, Meta’s goal is to be a helper throughout the advertisers’ journey, whether optimizing performance by offering new ways for creative development, automating certain parts of the ad creation process or increasing companies’ credibility and engagement through Meta Verified.
With the launch, companies will be able to create image variations focused on the ad idea with text overlay features. With this, it will be possible to create new backgrounds around product images and resize them for better adaptation.
“Meta’s investments in AI for advertisers have resulted in consistent performance for our business and allowed Casetify to focus on more creative and strategic work. When we recently tested the background generation feature, we saw a 13% increase in our return on advertising spend,” said Wesley Ng, founder and CEO of Casetify.
In addition, Meta also introduced an image expansion feature that allows you to adjust creative pieces to different proportions on different surfaces. This functionality will be available for use on both Reels and the Instagram and Facebook Feed.
Among the tools, text generation will also be available that creates variations of titles for ads, in addition to the main content. “We are testing the ability of generated text to reflect brands’ unique voice and tone, highlighting key selling points based on previous campaigns and generated text. These improvements are driven by feedback from advertisers who want a more diverse set of suggestions text that best reflects your brand and key selling points,” explained Hegeman.
The feature will soon be powered by Meta Llama 3, the company’s next generation of language models, which will enable new features and improve ad performance. The new features should be available globally by the end of the year.
