Focused on strengthening and promoting Brazilian audiovisual relations with the United Kingdom, FilmBrazil, an internationalization platform for I OPEN in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), returns to D&AD, in London, England, with a new action.
“According to Euromonitor, in 2023, the United Kingdom invested US$48.2 million in advertising, which represented a growth of 5%, of this total amount, US$10.8 million (22.4%) were with film production. If we stop to analyze this information, together with FilmBrazil’s 2023 balance sheet, which shows that 10% of the total exported by Brazil went to the United Kingdom, we see that this is a market with great potential for generating business for our production companies. Consolidating this relationship is, without a doubt, an essential strategy for us, as we believe that this number can grow even further”, comments Marianna Souza, executive manager of FilmBrazil.
Given this scenario, the platform and its associated production companies (Lobo, Mugshot, Saigon Filmes, Satelite Audio, Stratostorm and Vox Haus) will be in London to accompany D&AD, which will take place at the Southbank Center this Tuesday and Wednesday, the 21st and 22nd of May. In addition to its participation, FilmBrazil will also hold a night dedicated to celebrating Brazilian creativity. Together with Tátil Design, it will bring together judges and local decision-makers for networking in a welcome drinks at The Green Room. Finally, in partnership with More Grls, the platform will also promote a small committee about female leaders in audiovisual.
“These actions are just the beginning of renewing our contract with D&AD, giving a small spoiler of increasingly inclusive initiatives and thinking about the diversity we want to see in this market. In addition to our action in London, they will also be present in Brazil for WHEXT 2024. We are excited about these moves that will bring many new features”, adds Marianna.
