A Warner Bros. Discovery was recognized in the third edition of the event ‘Recognition of the Best Companies in Diversity Practices and Actions’, organized by the Business Initiative for Racial Equality, by the Talent Acceleration and Development Program Black Narratives Untold – Black Brazil Unspoken. Developed in partnership with WIP Ventures, the program provides access and development to writers and directors from the black community, whose stories will be produced and broadcast on WBD’s platforms.
The program was evaluated by a panel made up of members of the Organizing Committee and technical experts, who analyzed more than 60 projects from medium and large organizations. After a three-month paid training cycle, with classes taught by renowned black professionals in the audiovisual market, such as Emílio Domingues, Everlane Moraes and Chica Andrade, in addition to internal WBD talents, three short documentary projects were selected and are in production, with expected to be released later this year.
The initiative is part of Warner Bros. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion platform. Discovery, WBD Access, which promotes development and mentoring programs, generating opportunities and visibility in the media. WBD Access serves as a powerful channel that connects talent from underrepresented groups with content and brands, reinforcing the company’s commitment to diversity.
The third edition of the recognition event is a celebration of May 13th, the date that marks 136 years since the abolition of slavery in Brazil. The action had a partnership with the Brazil-Germany Chamber and the support of Movimento Mulher 360, ABRH, APP Brasil and the Business and LGBTI+ Rights Forum, highlighting the joint commitment of different entities to promote equality and inclusion in the market.
