After a great stint on Big Brother Brasil, album releases and stints with brands such as Tanqueray, MAC Cosmetics, O Boticário and Magazine Luiza, Manu Gavassi takes on the role of creative head of Fashion at Free market.
In the new position, Manu will be involved in priority and strategic agendas for the fashion category at Mercado Livre. Her scope will involve not only content in promotional campaigns and launches, but a business partner, contributing her knowledge and influence in the world of fashion to identify trends and suggestions for improvements to the shopping experience.
In addition, Manu will curate items and looks on a special landing page called ‘Escolhas da Manu’, which will be updated monthly on e-commerce. The artist also starts to act as an affiliate in the Mercado Livre Affiliate Program, monetizing her networks through the promotion of curated products as she encourages the platform’s fashion affiliate base to optimize the creation of their content.
Mercado Livre currently has more than 32 million users browsing the fashion section every month.
The announcement is part of the company’s broader strategy, which seeks to meet growing consumer demand for a diverse fashion offering. This closer look at the category, which was highlighted by the brand in the last BBB, is due to its great potential. For comparison purposes, if you add up the number of fashion sellers on the platform currently, it is equivalent to 148 times the number of stores in the largest shopping mall in Latin America. The category has more than 1,500 official stores, including major brands.
