In its 8th edition, the festival stands out for neutralizing carbon emissions, in addition to offering shows, lectures and tastings.
From May 24th to June 9th, Parque Villa-Lobos hosts the Taste São Paulo Festival, recognized as the largest gastronomy festival in the world. Celebrating its 8th edition, the event welcomes visitors with a wide selection of dishes and drinks, in addition to standing out for its socio-environmental initiatives and responsibilities.
This year, the festival has a partnership with Prospera+Greener, the first sustainable benefits platform in Brazil, to neutralize carbon emissions generated during the event, continuing an effort started the previous year, when around 300 tons of CO2 were compensated in the São Paulo and Brasília editions. Furthermore, the event is implementing several socio-environmental practices such as collaboration with significant projects such as Feira Preta, the largest festival of black culture and entrepreneurship in Latin America, and also with Gastronomia Periférica and Da Quebrada restaurant, in which gastronomy students They have the opportunity to work in various areas of the event and have contact with professionals in the field, experiencing the challenges and rhythm of a kitchen with great technical and other demands.
“Our mission is to demonstrate that large-scale events can, in addition to boosting the local economy, promote socio-environmental actions and strengthen entire ecosystems. This happens through the generation of jobs, training of new talents and, above all, through the commitment to the positive impacts that we can have on the planet”, comments Gustavo Oliveira, COO of IMM.
The Taste São Paulo Festival is an example of how large-scale events can positively influence the environment and society.
“By neutralizing CO2 emissions, we preserve the forest and demonstrate that caring for the environment also results in social and economic benefits. Large festivals, whether music, art, gastronomy and entertainment, play a crucial role in this process of raising awareness and caring for our planet”, comments Leandro de Abreu, CEO of Prospera+Greener.
The festival offers a program full of shows, DJs, practical classes and talks with chefs and bartenders, as well as 31 restaurants and bars that will bring the best of gastronomy for tasting, with dishes ranging from R$20 to R$55.
