The brand will have content to show behind the scenes of the championships, interactions with the public and interviews with special guests
Havaianas is the official sponsor of the World Championship promoted by the World Surf League (WSL).
The brand will be present in six competitions with the WSL, four of them on the World Tour: Sunset Beach (Hawaii/USA), Peniche (Portugal), Margaret River (Australia) and Saquarema (RJ/BRA).
“Sponsoring a championship that has so much to do with us was a natural move. We want to inspire even more people to get to know this sport and invite them to explore a freer life”, said Mafê Albuquerque, VP of Global Marketing Havaianas.
In addition to the sponsorship, Havaianas will also be the official presenter of the Tour Vlog, on Youtube and the WSL website, where it will show the backstage of the championship, as well as interviews with special guests and interactive activities with the public.
“Havaianas was present in the achievements that put Brazil at the top of world surfing, such as the title of Ítalo Ferreira (2019), the conquest of the third world championship by Gabriel Medina (2021) and so many other moments of surfing glory. We are very excited for another season”, said Ivan Martinho, CEO of WSL Latin America.
In addition to Havaianas, other brands will also be present in the 2022 season as sponsors: Banco do Brasil, BB DVTM, Oi, Oakberry, Unicesumar, Localiza, Australian Gold, 51 Ice, Enel Distribuição Rio, Oakley, Corona and Red Bull. And support from: Saquarema City Hall and the Department of Sport, Leisure and Youth, from the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
