O SBT sent ten carts with donations collected for the SBT DO BEM and Grupo Silvio Santos campaign ‘Juntos Pelo Rio Grande do Sul’. To date, more than 250 tons of items have been collected, including water, cleaning products, personal hygiene products, clothing, non-perishable food and blankets.
Live, Celso Portiolli showed the departure of the vehicles towards Rio Grande do Sul in a convoy leaving from São Paulo (SP) that will travel for around 20 hours to the Civil Defense distribution center of Rio Grande do Sul, the body chosen for receive donations. During the journey, as it passes through Paraná, two other trucks will join the convoy with more donations collected by Rede Massa.
“Today, with the feeling of a task accomplished, we will close the stage of collecting donations to begin a new phase, the phase of sending what was collected. Around this process of receiving donations, which is efficient and fast, we count on the collaboration of hundreds of volunteers, people who gave up their daily lives, their own routine to carry boxes, to remove, pack, label, in addition to donating. of the people. It was the effort of these people that made that initial idea become a reality”, declared Portiolli.
Another surprise that moved everyone during Legal Sunday was the hiring of a volunteer who marked the campaign for his altruistic attitude from the beginning. Mr. Tonico, as he became known, was one of the first to volunteer at the Donation Center and came to the station daily to help. Today, Portiolli announced that he has just won a job at SBT, becoming part of the house’s staff.
“Now Antônio Carlos Pereira, Seu Tônico, is the new SBT employee. He got the company badge. You spent 45 days without a job, but now you are the new SBT employee. You will work in the warehouse, in this part that organizes and controls various departments. You are in the best company to work for, you will be very happy here. Now, you are my co-worker”, expresses the presenter.
SBT provided complete coverage, live and in detail, of the arrival of the 12 trucks in Porto Alegre, during ‘Chega Mais’ this Monday (10).
It is worth remembering that the ‘Juntos Pelo Rio Grande do Sul’ campaign raised donations for the victims harmed by the climate tragedy in RS. A Donation Center was set up at the station’s headquarters, in Osasco (SP), having received support from the entire network of stations, including affiliates and regional stations, who opened their doors to receive donations, as well as volunteers from the Silvio Santos Group and others citizens who joined the cause.
In São Paulo, when delivering their donations, people were welcomed by SBT artists and were able to follow in real time the number of items received and checked through ‘Live da Transparência’, which broadcast live the movement in the tent and the conference of items in the Jequiti warehouse.
“It is comforting to see that solidarity could light up such a dark moment for the families of Rio Grande do Sul. Thank you very much to everyone who donated, to everyone who collaborated with SBT DO BEM, we are grateful. May God bless every Brazilian home and every person who contributed to this great campaign. We are here ‘Together for Rio Grande do Sul’. A fraternal hug to my brothers from Rio Grande do Sul. I know that starting your life over is not easy, but it is necessary. You can count on our help, you can count on us. Many businesspeople and simple people, who often have nothing to donate, took that little bit to see the reconstruction of this wonderful state. To our brothers from Rio Grande do Sul, may God’s blessings arrive with great prosperity. A kiss in the heart of each one of you”, concludes Celso.
