So far, FutFanatics and OneFootball Care have gone public to say they are taking action on the case.
A comment by presenter Neto during the ‘Donos da Bola’ this Thursday (24) could cost dearly for the ex-player’s pocket and for the YouTube channel Rádio Craque Neto. During the program, the presenter was irritated by a speech by Palmeira native Abel Ferreira, in which the coach praises journalists who know how to talk about what he called ‘played game’ and even his parents talk about the ‘spoken game’.
Neto saw the speech as an attack on the press and cited the coach’s mother. “Does your mother know more? Does she know how to cook cod, does she know how to make cacetinho (French bread, in Portuguese from Portugal)? My mother knows football, maybe yours doesn’t”, shot Neto, who also called the coach a ‘colonizer’. – Abel Ferreira and his family are Portuguese and, therefore, the former player’s speech sounded prejudiced on social networks.
The e-commerce FutFanatics, sponsor of the channel, informed, via Twitter, that it is analyzing the speech of the presenter against the coach of Palmeiras, Abel Ferreira, and his mother, which may have some future consequences if it is considered a prejudiced statement.
OneFootball Care, another sponsor, also commented on Twitter and stated that ‘they are taking appropriate action’.
Palmeiras also expressed themselves, and said they regret the ‘lack of education of the presenter, the bad example for society’.
Also on Twitter, Neto also defended himself against the accusations. ‘Who put his mother in the story was Abel himself by being rude and disrespectful to the press’, wrote the former player.
Sought, the Band has not yet officially positioned itself.
