More than 40 themed carts paid homage to superheroes, anime, games, films and series.
In a contest full of references to geek culture, the ‘Super Nuintendo’ team, from Cotia-SP, was the champion of Red Bull Downhill, held this Sunday (16) on Avenida Brigadeiro Luís Antônio, in São Paulo. More than 40 themed cars, inspired by superheroes, anime, games, films and series, went down the hill in search of victory.
The crazy race drivers faced a 400-meter route full of creative obstacles, such as the “Banana Blitz” (homage to a famous kart game) and the “Pixelized Forest” (inspired by a cube construction game). The creativity and performance of the cars were fundamental in impressing the judges and winning over the public.
With a time of 41 seconds, “Super Nuintendo”, inspired by the Nintendo, crossed the finish line in first place, taking home the trophy and the glory of having won the geek edition of Red Bull Downhill. The team, which paid homage to one of the most classic video games in history, demonstrated all its passion in building the car and in its performance on the track.
To make the moment even more special, celebrities such as Pedro Scooby and Lucas Chumbo, Olympic champion surfer Italo Ferreira, and content creators Lactea (Stenio Girardelli), Mariana Ayres and Wanessa Wolf were also present at the race.
The competition was broadcast live on the streamer Gaulswith the participation of Podpah, Island of Legends, Hero Base and FURIA, bringing all the excitement and adrenaline to thousands of spectators. The event also had the support of São Paulo City Hall and the sponsorship of several brands, such as Domino’s Pizza, UbisoftRadio Disney, Ford and Furia Esports.
